Celtic could seal 'great bit of business' amid Ajer U-turn update - Phillips
Kevin Phillips has claimed “it would be a great bit of business” if Celtic can get upwards of £15million for Kristoffer Ajer this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Sunderland and England striker claimed the 23-year-old’s departure could fund up to four signings for Ange Postecoglou.
Ajer has just 12 months left on his contract at Parkhead and has told the club he wants to leave in this window.
The club issued agents with a £15million mandate for Ajer’s sale but have since U-turned on that decision.
As revealed by Football Insider this morning (13th July), the Hoops board now want £20million for the Norway international.
It comes after bids from Norwich City, Bayer Leverkusen and Brentford, with the latter offering £15million including add-ons.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of the latest,
“Wow, I think it would be a great bit of business if they could get £15million for him considering he only has a year left on his contract.
“That is a sizeable amount of money that could be invested elsewhere. £15million is good money, in my opinion. That could bring in three or four good players.
“It is the sort of deal which could be beneficial for all parties. Celtic need fresh faces through the door. It is going to be a tough season and that money could be put to good use.”
