Kenny: Celtic boss could use 'connections' to seal deals for Man City stars amid Itkaura link
Ange Postecoglou could use his connections with City Football Group to secure multiple new Celtic signings.
That is according to ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after Man City’s Ko Itakura was linked with a Parkhead move.
The Daily Record claimed on 28th June that the 24-year-old centre-back is high on a list of Postecoglou’s Celtic targets.
The manager, 55, has links with City Football Group after his time with Japanese side Yokohama F. Marinos, who are part of the multi-club network.
Itakura, a five-time Japan international, is in the final two years of his City deal and spent the last 18 months on loan at FC Groningen.
Kenny claimed that Postecoglou’s links with City Football Group could prove useful in the transfer market.

“I think it makes sense, 100 per cent,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“I think if that is one of the reasons that Celtic are looking to bring him in then that’s a smart move.
“It could be interesting to see if Celtic can get a couple through those connections.
“Hopefully they can strengthen the squad ahead of next season because I think they [City Football Group] have got four or five clubs now.”
Postecoglou was appointed Celtic boss in June and signed a 12-month rolling contract.
The Australian’s first competitive match at the helm will be against FC Midtjylland on 20th July in the preliminary stags of the Champions League.
