Celtic could sign Josip Juranovic replacement after journalist's update - Campbell

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou and his staff will have a replacement ready for Josip Juranovic should the defender choose to leave the club this summer.

That is the view of former Premier League striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Premier League interest in the 26-year-old.

Juranovic moved Celtic Park from Legia Warsaw in August 2021.

The right-back impressed throughout his first season in Glasgow and established himself as one of the first names on Postecoglou’s team-sheet.

According to Fabrizio Romano (20 June), Juranovic is expected to leave Celtic this summer amid interest from Premier League clubs.

When asked by Football Insider for his reaction to news, Campbell said: “Listen, Postecoglou has done a great job and the last thing he will want is to lose key players.

“Nobody was quite sure how it would go last season. It could have gone horribly wrong but almost all the new signings did well.

“When you are a successful side and the Premier League sides are watching, they will come for your best players.

“I’m sure there is lots of clubs looking at Juranovic and thinking, ‘Yeah, he could do a job here.’ He had a really good season.

“It is one of those things Celtic and Postecoglou has to deal with.

“I’m sure Postecoglou and his staff have a target in mind who could slot in and replace him.”
