Celtic dealt big transfer blow after confirmed news - pundit

Celtic may have to re-think their entire transfer plan for this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Rangers defender Alan Hutton suggested that the groundwork laid by Ange Postecoglou may have to be thrown out if potential signings were keen to play under the previous boss.

The Hoops confirmed the departure of their manager before the start of the summer window, throwing potential summer plans in to doubt.

Postecoglou has had incredible success with transfers since his arrival at Parkhead with the likes of Kyogo Furuhashi, Reo Hatate and Jota having all arrived under Postecoglou’s tenure.

Back in April, Postecoglou suggested that the club already had plans in place for their summer recruitment.

With the 57-year-old’s departure for Tottenham, Hutton suggested the club’s plans could change.

They have done an amazing job so far with recruitment as we have seen, the likes of Jota, Hatate, [Tomoki] Iwata, there have been so many that have come in and done ever so well.

You would like to think that the groundwork has already been done before Ange left. Whether that makes a difference, the players obviously thought they were coming in to play for a certain manager so maybe that will change the dynamic of it.

I think it is important that the new manager is in as soon as possible. You need a fast start and then if the new manager does not want those signings and wants his own, he will need time to organise that.

It is really important that there is a fast turnaround to get a new manager in.
