'Nothing to lose' – Boyata hints at explosive Celtic clash with Bayern

By John Reid

Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata has revealed that the Celtic squad are looking forward to tomorrow’s game against Bayern Munich.

Despite losing 3-0 to Jupp Heynckes’ side two weeks ago, the centre-back told Celtic’s official Twitter that the players are “excited” about the game and hinted at going for the win saying they have “nothing to lose”.

He also stated that the “frustration” over Celtic’s poor performance in the Allianz Arena still lingers on.

Celtic go into the game at Celtic Park only three points behind the German Champions, knowing that a win would put qualification from the Group Stages up for grabs.

Even a point would be enough to all but guarantee European Football after Christmas, which was Brendan Rodgers’ stated aim at the start of the season.

A defeat wouldn’t even be disastrous, as Celtic would still be three points ahead of Anderlecht, barring a shock result in Paris tomorrow night.

With the likes of Lewandowski, Muller, Ribery and Neuer all out for the Bundesliga leaders however this could be Celtic’s best chance to get a positive result.

Following this game Celtic head to Paris for what looks like a thankless task against the rampant millionaires of PSG.

The last game is at Celtic Park against Anderlecht, and Celtic will be more than confident of collecting another three points against the struggling Belgium Champions.
