Celtic are facing last chance saloon if they want to sign up Hibernian midfielder John McGinn, with the Hoops’ long-term target now attracting attention from Premier League clubs.
The Daily Mail has provided an update on the Scotland international, reporting that Bournemouth and Brighton are eyeing up £3million moves for him in the summer transfer window.
It is understood that Celtic are yet to make an offer for the midfielder who has been linked with them in recent seasons, and unless they act in the coming months, it appears that the 23-year-old will be on the move down south.
Brendan Rodgers simply has to snap up McGinn this summer.
Most Celtic fans say that he is nowhere near good enough for them, but with Neil Lennon valuing him at £5million, he is definitely within reach financially and could serve as a solid back-up and long-term replacement for Scott Brown.
Rodgers wasn’t afraid to waste £3million on Eboue Kouassi, so why not spend a little bit more on a Scotland international, who has proved himself in the Scottish Premiership this season with a dazzling run of form.
McGinn has also put Celtic to the sword on a couple of occasions this term.
He scored twice at Parkhead in a 2-2 draw in September and was also a key performer in the Hibs’ 2-1 win against the Bhoys last week.
It’s absolutely vital that Celtic sign him this summer, they cannot afford to miss out on him.
