'Disrespectful' - Celtic fans react to Ciftci display v Sunderland
By Danny Wright
Nadir Ciftci made a surprise cameo appearance in Celtic’s friendly victory over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday – and the Hoops supporters took to Twitter to voice their concerns about him featuring.
Celtic eased to a 5-0 victory over a poor Sunderland side with Callum McGregor netting a hat-trick and further goals from Jonny Hayes and Stuart Amrstrong.
Ciftci, 25, entered the fray in the 61st minute when he replaced James Forrest, but had barely any impact on the match as Brendan Rodgers’ men breezed past the side that finish rock bottom in last season’s Premier League.
The striker featured in just four matches for the Hoops in 2016/17 and spent the second half of the season on loan in Poland with Pogon Szczecin.
However Rodgers is having major difficulty in the striker position at the moment with Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths both injured.

Scott Sinclair was forced to play up front in the clash with Rosenborg in the Champions League earlier this week, but that proved fruitless as Celtic were held to a goalless draw.
It seems that Celtic fans have now already made their minds up on Ciftci, and most are in the opinion that he should be nowhere near the first-team even with Dembele and Griffiths out – with one supporter saying that it was “disrespectful” to bring on a player of his quality.
Here is a selection of their tweets:
Was Celtic bringing on Ciftci for half an hour even more disrespectful than if Sunderland had brought on someone's nan?

Were there more Celtic fans than Sunderland fans today?

A 5-0 Celtic win without a striker* – Brendan looks like he's totally in control and has options for Wednesday
