Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to rave about Kieran Tierney for his performance in the Scottish League Cup final win against Motherwell on Sunday.

Tierney, 20, played all 90 minutes as the Bhoys eased to a 2-0 victory at Hampden Park thanks to second half goals from James Forrest and Moussa Dembele.

In a League Cup final dominated by controversial refereeing decisions, it was Brendan Rodgers’ side who reigned supreme and fans clearly feel that Tierney had a major role in that victory.

It is the fourth domestic title that Rodgers has won since moving to Parkhead and the Northern Irish boss has not only overseen a haul of honours, but has also overseen the rapid development of Tierney.

The Scotland international was rushed to hospital in the last Celtic cup final at Hampden in the Scottish Cup final win against Aberdeen last season but he managed to stay on the field throughout the whole game this time and didn’t have a mad-dash to pick up his winners medal.

Fans are already in love with Tierney but they fell even more in love for the Scot on Sunday.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Tierney has made 28 appearances across all competitions already for Celtic this season, scoring two goals and supplying four assists in the process.

In other Celtic news, ex-Hoops manager Neil Lennon has taken a brutal swipe at Rangers for their manager search.
