'Clowns' - Fans react as PL club plot January swoop for Celtic defender (not Tierney)
By Danny Wright
Everton are plotting to make a bid for Celtic teenager Anthony Ralston when the January transfer window re-opens in January – and Scottish football fans have reacted mainly to rubbish the link.
The Sun claims that the Toffees have been in pursuit of Ralston, 18, since the end of last season when he broke into Celtic’s first-team and had scouted him on several occasions.
It is understood that the young defender’s performance on Tuesday night when he squared up to Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar in the Champions League is what has led to Everton’s interest peaking enough for them to make a bid.
Ralston is a product of Celtic’s academy and is the latest full-back to make a breakthrough after Kieran Tierney rose to prominence and became a regular in Brendan Rodgers’ side and the Scotland set-up.
Tierney was claimed to have been wanted by Manchester United during the summer transfer window but it now seems that Premier League side Everton has set their sights on the other young Scot in the Celtic squad.

The Hoops fans are understandably aggrieved that one of the big-spending English sides has set their sights on one of their prized young possessions.
However supporters of their bitter rivals Rangers have also weighed in on the transfer rumour, mainly saying that Ralston isn’t worth a move to the Premier League because he wasn’t good enough against PSG.
