Dedryck Boyata admitted that it is not certain that he will sign a new Celtic contract, with his current deal set to expire in the summer of 2019, and fans are happy to see him go.

Boyata is in talks with Celtic at the moment but no agreement has been reached and he is non-committal about his long-term future –  something that’s enraged fans who don’t think he’s been performing this season.

Asked whether his future would be at Parkhead, Boyata said, as quoted by the Scottish Sun: “We will see. I’m not in a rush. Of course, being there, it’s good. But I don’t know what is going to happen in the future.

“It doesn’t really depend on them or even me, we will just see what happens.

“At the moment, we are still talking about it. For the moment I am a Celtic player and I love Celtic. It’s a great team, I love to be there. Whatever happens next, we will see.”

One fan said that he was always capable of a mistake, while another admitted that while there’s a decent player in there, Boyata can’t handled the pressure of playing at Celtic and that the club would be “mad” to give him a new deal.
