'Causes too many problems', 'Shocking' - Celtic fans slam senior player for display v Hibs

Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon continued between the sticks for the Hoops’ Scottish Premiership 2-1 defeat to Hibs at Easter Road – and fans were left longing for Scott Bain to return to the side after impressing.

Brendan Rodgers’ side travelled to Easter Road knowing a win would secure their seventh successive title although the Hoops had it far from all their own way and fell to a disappointing 2-1 defeat.

The hosts took a first-half lead through Jamie Maclaren as Neil Lennon’s side looked to fire themselves into the fight for second place with Rangers and Aberdeen.

With 11 minutes left on the clock it was 2-0 as Celtic faced up to a potential title-winning clash with Rangers next weekend.

Odsonne Edouard pulled one back for the Hoops but it wasn’t enough to spark a revival.

Fans were far from impressed with senior player Gordon’s performance against the Hibees – with one fan saying they “do not trust” the shot-stopper.

Here are some of their comments on Twitter:

Gordon has only recently returned to the side after a knee injuy looked to have de-railed his season.

The veteran shot-stopper continually splits opinion among Celtic fans with many hoping he will be replaced in the summer by Rodgers.

Gordon has made 43 appearances this season as Rodgers’ side cruise towards a historic back-to-back domestic treble.

The veteran has two years remaining on his contract at Celtic Park and isn’t likely to be leaving Celtic Park soon.

Next up for the Hoops is the visit of Rangers to Celtic Park for a possible title party.
