Celtic fans react on Twitter to semi-final victory against Rangers

By Emma Sanders

Celtic were victorious once again in the Old Firm derby against Rangers this weekend and their fans celebrated heavily on Twitter.

Brendan Rodgers’ side secured a 1-0 victory against Celtic in the semi-final of the Scottish league cup on Sunday afternoon.

A late strike from Moussa Dembele gave Celtic a deserved win and they will face Aberdeen in the final on Sunday 27th November at Hampden Park.

The last time the two sides met, Rodgers’ team demolished Ranger 5-1 at Celtic Park.

However, the encounter on Sunday afternoon was much less exciting, with both teams failing to impose themselves with real quality during the game.

Celtic were the better team though and chances from Scott Sinclair, Tom Rogic and Stuart Armstrong all drew fantastic saves from Matt Gilks.

Erik Sviatchenko had a goal disallowed in the first half for Celtic but Rangers did resist for most parts of the game.

It took an 87th minute winner for Dembele to seal victory for Rodgers’ side and fans were absolutely delighted with another Old Firm win.

In other Celtic news, their opposing fans didn’t react quite so cheerfully on Twitter following their defeat against Rodgers’ side.
