'Terrible', 'Liability' - Celtic fans slam one player despite win v Ross County
Celtic fans have slammed Dedryck Boyata on Twitter for his performance in 3-0 win against Ross County at Celtic Park on Saturday.
Boyata, 27, has struggled to find his form for most of the season and it seems that the Belgian defender failed to improve against the bottom-of-the-table Staggies before he was taken off at half-time and replaced by Jack Hendry.
Many supporters were left shocked with Brendan Rodgers’ decision to start the former Manchester City centre-back, especially as Hendry was axed from the team despite impressing before the international break.
Celtic fans could not hide their frustration with Boyata on social media, with one claiming that the defender is “terrible”.
Here is a selection of their tweets:
He is just a liability.

If Boyata isn’t signing a new contract why are we still putting up with him? Not that I want him to get a new contract, leaving for free is a good deal.

Boyata and Lustig are terrible, can't see why Rodgers favours them

He is awful. Why have the club wasted money on Compper, who is either injured or somehow deemed worse than Boyata??

Have the rest of the season off boyata ????

Good first half. Looking good down the left. Armstrong excellent. Sinclair, McGregor and Rogic playing well in the middle. Boyata and Lustig playing like Boyata and Lustig. Broony magic.

Boyata has been ever-present for Celtic this term having got past the worst of his injury woes that plagued last season and the summer.

He has made 30 appearances in all competitions this campaign, scoring two goals and supplying two assists.
Although he has been a mainstay in Rodgers’ first-team plans, performances have led to fierce criticism, especially in the Champions League when he was completely exposed by the likes of Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
Rodgers surely must invest in his defence over the summer, especially as January signing Marvin Compper has barely kicked a ball since his £1million move from RB Leipzig.
In other Celtic news, the Hoops must join the race to sign this defender who has been dubbed as the new Sergio Ramos.
