Celtic fans told 'trust Ange' on signing Hatate after Sky update - pundit
Frank McAvennie is willing to trust Ange Postecoglou when it comes to Celtic signing “someone we have never heard of”.
The former Hoops hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, was reacting to the latest claims on Reo Hatate’s future.
On 6 December, Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph reported Hatate is set to meet with Kawasaki Frontale chiefs this week to express his desire to join Celtic.
The left-back is out of contract at the end of January.
Hatate is the latest name from the J-League to be linked with Celtic following Kyogo Furuhashi’s success in Glasgow.
McAvennie is willing to trust Postecoglou’s judgement when it comes to players from Japan.

“He knows far more about it than I do,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“But you just have to look at Kyogo and how well he has done to see that Ange knows what he’s doing.
“If he thinks this guy is good enough then great, we have been crying out for a new left-back.
“Juranovic isn’t doing it for me and I’m still not convinced by Greg Taylor.
“Listen, it sounds like this guy might come cheap if he’s out of contract.
“That’s great for us and if he’s also a success up here, it shows Japan is an untapped goldmine for quality players.
“Celtic would also have a huge advantage there because we have a manager who is an expert.
“We’ll see what happens over the next weeks but you have to trust Agne when it comes to these players.
“Again, it’s someone we have never heard of but in my head, I’m thinking ‘yeah, this makes sense’.”
