Celtic fans bombarded Rangers fans on Twitter following their side’s 3-2 victory over their fierce rivals in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.

Rangers took an early lead in the game with a fine finish from Josh Windass, only for Tom Rogic to equalise shortly after.

Daniel Candeias then reinstated the Light Blues advantage in the game as dreams that a title championship was within reach peaked.

But on the brink of half-time Moussa Dembele levelled once more with a goal that spurred the visitors on and Odsonne Edouard fired the Hoops to victory to take all three points in the second half.

There was a lot of talk from the Blue side of Glasgow pre-match that Celtic were there for the taking and could be got at for the first time in a long time.

However, while Brendan Rodgers’ side poured water over Rangers title ambitions this season, it was clear to see just how much the gap had been closed at the top.

For now though, Celtic fans can revel in the victory and that’s exactly what they did exactly on social media.

One response following the win from one member of the Park Head faithful was, ‘This is our city,’ and another ribbed their opposing supporters by saying, ‘Unlucky lads, we’ll try 9 men next time,’ referring to Jozo Simunovic’ red card that left Graeme Murty’s side with a man advantage for more than 30 minutes of the game.

Here is a selection of Twitter responses from the game:

In other Celtic news, Paul Merson: I would be ‘shocked’ if this Hoops man wasn’t at Arsenal next season.
