Celtic fans unimpressed with Yang Hyun-Jun announcement: ‘It’s embarrassing’

Celtic celebrated their season on Sunday night as they handed out awards to multiple parties for their contributions throughout the campaign.

One of the winners was Yang Hyun-Jun, who took home the Young Player of the Year award.

The winger has been one of the club’s standout stars this season, and one of their only consistent attacking threats.

However, at the same time, it was far from a great season for the 23-year-old, given the standards of the club, and he has only provided eight goal contributions in the league to date.

Fans were quick to highlight this, complaining that by Yang lifting the award, it shows how far Celtic have declined.

Celtic fans believe Yang Hyun-Jun showcases club’s decline

The final four matches of the season will essentially decide Celtic’s campaign.

The club can still win the Scottish Premiership and the Scottish Cup, and an unlikely domestic double will no doubt be heavily celebrated.

However, even if this is achieved, it does not hide away the fact that the Hoops’ quality has massively dropped.

The fact that they have lost eight matches this season and could still win the league title is nothing short of a miracle, while the less said about their European campaign, the better.

Now, with Yang lifting the Young Player of the Year award, many fans have insisted that this is simply “embarrassing”.

As a result, X was flooded with supporters who insisted that the fact that Yang won showcases the club’s recent decline.

Will Celtic splash the cash in the summer?

Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Celtic will have a busy summer of recruitment.

However, much of their spending power will depend on whether they can qualify for the Champions League, with the competition awarding millions in prize money.

As a result, Celtic’s transfer plans are currently dictated by which European competition they will qualify for.

Currently, the Hoops are on track to qualify for the Champions League as they sit second in the Scottish Premiership table.

However, it remains to be seen if they can hold a top-two place until the end of the season, with Celtic yet to play Rangers, Motherwell and Hearts for a final time.
