Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong is set to complete his move to Southampton on Tuesday, according to a reliable journalist.
Press Association reported Simon Peach has claimed on his personal Twitter account that the Bhoys first teamer will join the Premier League side on a four-year deal later today.
It is understood that within hours the 26-year-old’s move to the Saints will be announced and Brendan Rodgers’ side will receive a £7million windfall.

Football Insider verdict:
Armstrong has been a key player during Rodgers’ era, but this summer seems like the right time to move him on and receiving £7million for a player in the final year of his contract is decent business for the club. The central midfielder has been a great goalscoring option at Parkhead from the centre of the park and has also broken into the Scotland national team. However, the 2017/18 campaign saw his form drop off slightly compared to the previous year and it seems like a move to England is now a good step for him in his career. Celtic certainly have plenty of alternative options in the shape of Tom Rogic, Callum McGregor and James Forrest. The £7million fee is also a decent sum for Celtic to perhaps go improve other areas of their squad ahead of next season, where they will be gunning for another year of domestic dominance.
In other Celtic news, Brendan Rodgers should use the Hoops’ upcoming pre-season friendlies as an experiment.
