Celtic have 'another Scott Brown' on their books as contract agreed - Scottish pundit
Alan Hutton has claimed Celtic have “another Scott Brown” after Callum McGregor signed a new long-term deal.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Scotland defender suggested the 28-year-old could see out his career at his boyhood club.
Celtic confirmed last week (24th September) McGregor has signed a new five-year deal at Parkhead.
A graduate of the Bhoys’ youth ranks, McGregor’s only time away from Glasgow was a season-long loan to Notts County.
He was appointed the Hoops’ captain by new manager Ange Postecoglou following Brown’s departure to Aberdeen.
The 36-year-old left Parkhead after 14 years at the club.

Hutton suggested McGregor could fill that void of experienced stalwart and leader both on and off the pitch.
Asked if he thought McGregor could see out his career at Parkhead, Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “That’s what it looks like to me.
“He seems happy there, he’s happy with his football.
“He’s signed a long-term deal, he’s the captain, he’s obviously taken over from Scott Brown and everything that that entails.
“It looks like he’ll go down as another Scott Brown. He’s obviously a main part of this Celtic rebuild, he obviously trusts in the plan that Ange Postecolgou has.
“It’s going to take time but you need these key figures, I think, when you’re rebuilding a squad.
“The spine of your team needs that know-how. They need to have been there, know all about it and how things work.
“He plays a key part. They’ll want him back (from injury) as soon as possible.”
McGregor has played 337 times for Celtic to date.
Brown made 611 appearances for the Hoops after joining from Hibernian in 2007.
