Celtic have hijacked Rangers' bid to sign Liverpool attacker Harry Wilson, according to a report.

The Scottish Sun claim Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers has "asked his old club to let him have attacker Wilson on loan at Celtic for the season".

It is said that Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is already working on a deal to sign the wide forward and has been doing so since taking charge of the club in May.

The Scottish Sun report Liverpool are considering all inquiries for their rising star and will demand rental fees are paid if Wilson does not play enough.

Gerrard wants Wilson in as soon as possible for the European campaign but knows he may have to wait for an answer.

But now Rodgers has joined the chase the battle is on and Liverpool face a dilemma as their old boss and skipper fight it out for a player who is also attracting interest from Championship duo Hull City and Norwich City.
