Kenny 'disgusted' with Christie and claims he 'hasn't got a prayer' of thriving at Southampton
Ryan Christie will be found out in the Premier League if he shows the same attitude he has done for Celtic this season.
That is according to ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after the Sun reported that Southampton are eyeing the 26-year-old.
According to the report, the midfielder’s contract runs out at the end of the year and Celtic may need to cash in to avoid losing him on a free.
He will represent Scotland at this summer’s Euros after a torrid campaign with the Glasgow giants.
He featured 29 times in the Scottish Premiership as the Hoops ceded the title to Rangers after a nine-year era of dominance.
Kenny accused Christie of “downing tools” over the course of the campaign and predicted he is in for a rude awakening should he move south of the border this summer.

“No chance he’ll succeed at somewhere like Southampton or a club like that,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“Christie hasn’t got a prayer. I’m always disgusted with players who have downed tools.
“You’re at a massive club in Celtic with an unbelievable fanbase. If you can’t put 100 per cent into the club then there’s something wrong with you.
“He might be in for a bit of a shock if he takes that attitude with him into the Premier League. So it will be interesting to see how that one turns out.”
Christie signed for Celtic from Inverness in 2015.
He has gone on to make 142 appearances for the club, scoring 40 goals.
