In the close season, when things are quite quiet on the football front, almost anything can provide a transfer story, such is the case with a Tweet made by former Chelsea striker Alexandre Pato.
The player put up an emoji of a ‘clover’ – which features in Celtic’s badge – on his personal Twitter page.

Naturally, chaos ensued, as fans besieged the player to find out if he was moving to Glasgow to sign for the Hoops, and Hoops fansites wrote about the tweet.
There was even a report in the Scottish Sun about the tweet.
There’s just one problem though – the deal is never going to happen in a million years.
The striker, who is now 28-years-old, seems to have resurrected his career since moving to China to play for Tianjin Quanjian. He moved from Villarreal in a deal which cost an incredible £15.5million, and has scored 17 goals in 27 games for his latest team.
Can the Hoops afford to pay that amount of money for a player, especially one as injury prone as the Brazilian has been? No.
The fact that a story has been written about a Tweet does show that Hoops fans will jump on any hint that points to transfer activity at the Parkhead club.
Fans seem to be getting restless, even though the second domestic treble in a row was completed less than a month ago.
It’s all about moving forward though, and the Hoops really should start to make some transfer moves before the panicking really begins.
