Celtic captain Scott Brown has taken to Instagram to reveal that he is looking forward to the Hoops returning to pre-season.
Less than a month after winning the domestic treble, the Hoops return to pre-season training on Monday, and Brown, a Hoops mainstay with 56 appearances last season, has indicated that he is delighted that the Hoops are back to work.
“Can’t wait to start back tomorrow” he said on his personal Instagram page on Sunday evening, ahead of the Hoops’ return to their Lennoxtown training base.
Brown will no doubt be one of the most important players for the Hoops next season, as he aims to lead the Bhoys to their eighth league title in a row.
Football Insider verdict
Scott Brown does seem to be the type of player who lives and breathes football, so it is no shock that he is delighted that the Hoops are set to return to pre-season training. And why shouldn’t he be, last season was one of the best of his career, crowned by winning a host of player of the year awards, at the age of 32-years-old. It will be interesting to see if Brown is able to maintain the level of performance next season that he was in both of Brendan Rodgers’ seasons in charge at Celtic Park so far. Brown and his team-mates won’t have a lot of time before they are back in action, as the Hoops are set to begin their Champions League qualification process in three weeks time, and Brown will be vital to the chances of the Hoops making the group stages for the third season in a row. His midfield partnership with Olivier Ntcham will be vital to the Bhoys if they are to make the money-spinning group stages.
