Agbonlahor: Celtic will sack Postecoglou next season if Rangers win the league
Celtic will sack Ange Postecoglou if they do not win the Scottish Premiership next season, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward claimed the Hoops heirarchy will not accept another season of fisnihsing behind Rangers.
Postecoglou was finally announced as the club’s new boss last Thursday (10 June).
Celtic’s official statement revealed the Greece-born Australian has been handed a 12-month rolling contract.
It has led to questions amongst the fanbase over his longevity but Agbonlahor has insisted it is nothing to worry about.
He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “It makes sense to me. He’s a manager that’s not proven in the Scottish league.

“Celtic are looking at it and thinking ‘This could go well but it could go horribly wrong.’ They’re behind Rangers and if they don’t catch Rangers and win the league they’ll probably sack him.
“Celtic have got such high standards. They’ll want to qualify for the Champions League, they’ll want to win the league and if he doesn’t do that he’ll be gone.
“It makes sense because if it doesn’t work out they don’t even have to sack him, they can just let him go and bring in somebody else.
“He’ll be given a season, Celtic won’t mess around. If he’s not doing the job then 100 per cent they’ll sack him.”
Postecoglou joins Celtic after spending four years in charge of Japanese outfit Yokohoma F. Marinos.
The 55-year-old’s only previosu exepreince of European football is a short stint as manager of Greek third division club Panachaiki.
