Celtic may have unearthed their latest "gem" in Israeli winger Liel Abada, according to Paul Robinson.

The former Tottenham and Leeds United goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, tipped the club to make a "big profit" on the 19-year-old, much like they did with Moussa Dembele and Jeremie Frimpong.

Celtic confirmed the signing of the Israeli teenager on a five-year deal from Maccabi Petah Tikva yesterday (14th July).

Abada is Celtic's third signing of the summer window following the arrivals of Liam Shaw and Osaze Urhoghide from Sheffield Wednesday.

The versatile forward is very highly rated in Israel and has already been capped by the international side.

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Abada, Robinson said: "He sounds like he could be another one of Celtic's shrewd signings.

"He could be a gem. Celtic will likely keep him for a few seasons and then move him on for a big profit.

"You look at Dembele, Frimpong recently, and there has been many others. The scouting network has consistently unearthed these talents and then moved them on for bigger fees. If Abada is to be another one of those then it is great news for them.

"It also shows the manager's knowledge of world football. His appointment raised a few eyebrows but he undoubtedly will have an understanding of the international market better than most."
