Kevin Campbell has tipped Celtic to try and sign Jonjoe Kenny permanently this summer as the Everton price tag reportedly tumbles.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Everton and Arsenal striker heaped praise on the 23-year-old, who he claimed would be interested in penning a long-term contract at Parkhead.
Kenny has been ever-present for the Hoops since he arrived on a five-month loan deal from Goodison Park in February.
The right-back produced an impressive display in Celtic’s 1-0 win over Aberdeen on Saturday.
He completed 95 per cent of his attempted passes and was accurate with all three of his crosses. (Wyscout)
The Liverpool Echo claim Everton will lower Kenny’s £10million asking price this summer, as he enters the final 12 months of his contract.
When asked whether a permanent move to Celtic Park could be on the cards despite much uncertainty behind the scenes, Campbell told Football Insider:
“I think there could be a permanent offer on the table for him at the end of the season.
“Celtic are a big club but he has shown that he can play at that level and handle the pressure.
“There will be quite a few changes at the club this year because they need to wrestle the title back next season.
“There will be a lot of change in that squad this summer but Jonjoe Kenny is a great player. I think he would love to be a part of the rebuild.”
