Celtic must solve contract issue after 25-year-old shows his class v Ross County

COMMENT

Celtic fans were once again reminded of Australian midfielder Tom Rogic’s quality after the 25-year-old scored a superb goal in the Hoops’ 3-0 win over Ross County.

The goal, which was Rogic’s sixth of the season, was the perfect example of his guile and his skill, as a superb first touch took him away from his marker, and after creating space for himself he slid the ball into the back of the net.

The goal was captured on Twitter by a Hoops fan account for all to see.

The goal typifies everything that is good in Rogic’s play, the first touch to create the space is a skill that is unmatched in Scottish football.

The Hoops do have a problem with the Australian though, as he has yet to agree a new deal with the club, and his contract runs out at the end of next season.

Australian football website The World Game claimed that Rogic turned down a new deal, but that was swiftly denied by Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers.

No matter where the truth lies, Rogic is a player that the Hoops can’t do without. He adds that little bit extra which so many players lack, and he would be missed far more than supporters may realise.

Rogic will be a vital player for the Hoops as they aim to create history by winning a second successive domestic treble, and he deserves to be rewarded with a new deal.
