Sources: Newcastle reignite Ntcham interest as Celtic contract loophole exploited
Newcastle United are set to reignite their interest in Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham as he becomes a free agent, Football Insider understands.
The Premier League outfit are in the market for multiple central midfielders who can bring goals and creativity to their team.
Newcastle have openly expressed their desire to convert Joe Willock’s loan from Arsenal into a permanent move but they are also plotting other midfielder deals.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Ntcham, 25, is on their radar once again after they lost out to Marseille in the race to sign him in January.
That loan transfer to France did not work out well for the goalscoring midfielder and he is now set to be on the move again.
Football Insider revealed on 22nd May that Celtic have decided to terminate the contract of the Frenchman a year early.

The Scottish giants have exploited a contract loophole in the four-year contract Ntcham signed in November 2018.
The Hoops announced the deal runs until the summer of 2022 but Football Insider has learned that Celtic have triggered an option to terminate the last year and absolve themselves of the requirement to pay the player’s wages.
That opens the door for clubs to sign the former Man City man, valued at £4.5million, on a free transfer.
Ntcham has spent four years on the books of Celtic since joining from the Premier League champions in the summer of 2017.
He has made 147 appearances for the Hoops, which have yielded 24 goals and 13 assists from midfield.
