Celtic 27-yr-old form is shocking, but he seems certain to start clash v Rangers
COMMENT
Dedryck Boyata has been in shocking form for Celtic since he returned from his injury lay-off to start in the Old Firm clash at Ibrox last month.
He made the mistake which lead to the Gers opening the scoring and almost gifted them another goal in a match which the Hoops eventually won 3-2.
Despite his poor performance in that game and in the Hoops’ visit to Fir Park against Motherwell he seems certain to start the Bhoys’ massive Scottish Cup semi-final v Rangers on Sunday
The 27-year-old is a huge favourite of Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers, who brought him back from injury for the recent Old Firm clash at Ibrox, and kept him in the team despite his poor performance there.
Rodgers perhaps feels responsible for rescuing Boyata’s Hoops career, as it was going nowhere until the Northern Irishman rehabilitated him and made the Belgian key player for the Bhoys.

He has had some decent games for the Hoops this season, for example he was excellent in the 3-0 Champions League group stage win over Anderlecht, but those performances have been few and far between.
It seems obvious that a large percentage of Hoops fans don’t trust Boyata because of the mistakes he has made in the past, but that won’t stop Rodgers picking him for the team, and he looks set to start another huge game for the Bhoys at Hampden on Sunday.
