Celtic poised to sign 6ft striker sensation who turned down Chelsea in 2017 - reports
Celtic are poised to sign Hamburg’s 18-year-old striker Jann-Fiete Arp, according to reports.
The Derry Journal claims that the youngster is keen on a move to Celtic to hook up with Brendan Rodgers, while KickOff, citing German reports says the deal could be concluded as early as next week.
Arp hasn’t flown under the radar, and turned down Chelsea when he was 17-years-old, saying the move would make no sense.
He also idolises Harry Kane, and talking to the BBC said: “If there was just one player I had to pick as my role model, it’s Harry Kane.
“He plays the way I want to play. He’s pacy and very comfortable with and without the ball. It’s difficult to stop him. You need to pay attention for 90 minutes because he can score at any time.”
Arp made 18 Bundesliga appearances for Hamburg, scoring two goals, in a disastrous season that saw the club relegated from the top-flight for the first time.

However, he has been marked out as a superstar of the future, after scoring 37 goals in 45 games for the Under-17s and nine in nine for the Under-19s.
It’s not known whether he would move on loan or on a permanent deal, but if Celtic could pull it off, it would be a major coup.
