Celtic prepared to lose three big names after source's reveal - 'money talks,' says pundit

Alan Hutton has insisted “money talks” as Celtic fight to keep hold of their biggest assets ahead of the summer window.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Rangers defender said teams will be looking for opportunities to “nick a player” from Ange Postecoglou’s side.

On Sunday (12 March), sources told this site that the Hoops are working hard to keep Kyogo Furuhashi, Liel Abada and Jota at the club beyond the summer.

The trio joined Parkhead in 2021 during Postecoglou’s first transfer window and have been integral members of the side since.

Back in December, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that Premier League clubs are following Abada as a potential signing for the future.

Both Jota and Kyogo have also been linked with moves south of the border.

Hutton suggested the Celts will have options in case any of their star players quit.

I think it shows you the standard that they are playing to if teams are watching them,” he told Football Insider.

They have been outstanding this season under Postecoglou. The way they play the actual game is really exciting, it is good to watch. So there is going to be people coming to games and thinking there is the opportunity to nick a player.

But money talks ultimately. I think the one thing about Celtic is that the recruitment has been brilliant, you can’t really go against what they have done so far.

I am sure they will be other options but of course they will want to keep these players, build on that and look towards Europe next season.
