Celtic running out of time for Thomas Frank managerial appointment after recent Burnley sack news

Celtic are on the hunt for their next manager and have an ambitious plan to appoint Thomas Frank.

The Dane had been viewed as one of the best managers in the Premier League until his disastrous reign at Tottenham Hotspur.

While the coach is currently a free agent, Frank has been eyed by the Hoops for a potential appointment.

However, time may be running out, with multiple Premier League vacancies popping up.

With Burnley now sacking Scott Parker, Celtic’s ambitious appointment is in danger of falling apart.

Thomas Frank one of the favourites for Burnley job

With Parker now booted out of the Clarets, they are now on the hunt for a manager to lead them back into the Premier League next season.

While Steven Gerrard is one of the favourites for the job, Frank has remained in the race with the bookies, with Oddchecker on 30 April confirming that his odds have been slashed down to 13/2.

Frank did not have a great time at Tottenham

This will come as little surprise given his experience, with the Dane also continuously linked to Crystal Palace ahead of the summer.

Much of this is thanks to his excellent time at Brentford, where he transformed the team into an established Premier League outfit on a modest budget.

As a result, Celtic must speed up their summer plans and make an approach soon before they are beaten to it.

Frank would no doubt be an excellent appointment, and the Hoops would do extremely well to bring him in and should do everything in their power to make it happen.

What are Celtic’s chances of bringing in Frank?

Football Insider exclusively revealed that Frank would need some convincing to join Celtic.

The board’s lack of backing for managers in recent years will be a concern, and the fact that they could miss out on the league title this season complicates matters.

There is a possibility that he might be out of the club’s reach, but an appointment may still be doable.

Currently, one bookmaker has him at 9/2 to take over in the summer, but things can drastically change.

Nevertheless, it remains to be seen who the Hoops opt to appoint in the coming weeks, with a massive rebuild of the squad needed, no matter who comes into the dugout.
