It wouldn’t be a shock if some of Europe’s biggest club put in bids for Celtic attacker Moussa Dembele, after the Frenchman continued his international goal spree.
The 21-year-old scored his fourth goal in five games for France under-21s in their 1-1 draw with Italy on Tuesday.
That sort of form, especially at international level, makes teams sit up and take notice, even if Under-21 level isn’t on a par with the senior international squads.
Demeble has had an up and down two years for the Hoops since joining from Fulham in 2016.
In his first season he scored 32 goals, but last season injury affected much of his campaign.
Despite the injury issues he still ended the season with 16 goals.
48 goals in two seasons is an excellent record, even in Scotland, but more notably the player has scored in the Champions League as well.
Teams are always looking for goalscorers, and Demeble is certainly one of those, as he has proved at both international and club level on a regular basis for the last couple of years.
The Hoops will know that teams will be interested in a player with such a good goal record, and will be well aware that clubs will be willing to splash out on the striker.
What happens after that is anyone’s guess, as they will have a big decision to make on the players’ future.
In other Celtic news, legal issues won’t stop the Hoops from moving for this player
