Celtic centre-forward Ciaran Diver has already spent time at Hull City's training ground as a transfer is on the cards, Football Insider can reveal.

A Celtic source has told Football Insider that the striker has already had a trial at Hull and they are weighing up the prospect of offering him a contract.

There is also interest in Diver from other clubs in England, as well as in Scotland, as the prospect of him leaving this summer edges closer.

Diver has not yet played for the Celtic first team but he has had two spells out on loan, at League Two outfit Edinburgh in the second half of last season, as well as at League One club Stranraer previous to that.

He has scored just a single goal in senior football, at Edinburgh last season, from 17 matches.

The Hoops academy product is behind the likes of Mike Johnston in the forward pecking order at Parkhead as well as senior duo Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths.

It remains to be seen whether Hull's move for Diver would be affected by the arrival of Grant McCann as the manager.

He took over last week from Nigel Adkins, who departed the club earlier this month, and the new boss is overseeing a major overhaul of the squad.
