Celtic tipped to complete Hart signing from Tottenham after major update - Mills
Joe Hart would be an “excellent signing” for Celtic, according to Danny Mills.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Premier League and England defender suggested Tottenham could pay up the goalkeeper to open the door for Celtic.
Football Insider revealed yesterday (31 July) that Hart is willing to take a pay cut to swap north London for Glasgow.
He has 12 months left to run on his Spurs contract after penning a two-year deal last summer.
And Mills has suggested the Premier League club could reach an agreement to cancel his contract.
Asked whether he thinks the ex-England goalkeeper would be a good signing for the Hoops, he told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I do.

“I think it would be a really good signing. Joe’s at that stage where he will just want to play.
“If it’s a wage cut, then I’m sure Tottenham will pay him up and there is a deal to be done there.
“He probably just wants to play. Champions League football would have been a big pull for him but they obviously haven’t got that this year. There is still the Europa League and he’ll be playing week in, week out.
“I think it would be an excellent signing for Celtic to get in. He’s an experienced goalkeeper who will still be hungry and have something to prove.”
Hart played 10 times for Tottenham last season but did not feature in the Premier League.
The 34-year-old’s last game in the English top-flight came while he was at Burnley in December 2018.
