Celtic tipped to seal 'two top signings' as pundit 'wowed' by Telegraph reveal
Noel Whelan has claimed it would be “good business” for Celtic if they can generate upwards of £15million from the sale of Kristoffer Ajer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Aberdeen and Leeds United striker said the 23-year-old’s exit could fund “a couple of top signings” for Ange Postecoglou’s side.
According to the Telegraph‘s John Percy (July 15th), Brentford have agreed a club-record £13.5million fee with the Hoops for the centre-half.
It comes after Football Insider revealed the Bees would return to the negotiating table with a bid that had a higher guaranteed payment than their initial rejected offer.
Ajer has less than 12 months remaining on his contract at Parkhead.
As confirmed by Uefa, the Norway international was omitted from Celtic’s squad for tonight’s Champions League qualifier against FC Midtjylland.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of the latest, Whelan said”
“I mean, wow, if they can get close to £15million for him, that will go a long way. That kind of money could be used to bring in a couple of top signings and Celtic desperately need new faces.
“I don’t like the way Ajer has gone about his business. It’s not good to have players at a football club who don’t want to be there. You cannot turn their thinking around.
“If they can get £15million it would be a good bit of business. It’s a very good price for a player who has just one year left on his contract.
“From Ajer’s point of view, he needs a move to the Premier League. He needs a change of scenery.”
