Hutton hailed Jota’s “exciting” impact at Parkhead.

He insisted the Bhoys would certainly be thinking about turning his stay permanent.

Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “He has made a really good start. I’ve seen his highlights and he could have scored more goals.

“He’s that type of player that the fans would love to watch. He’s a livewire, he’s exciting, he always gets in at the back post. He wants to score goals and make things happen.

“It wouldn’t surprise me, if he keeps going with this form, Celtic would love to make that a permanent deal. He gives you something a little bit extra on the wing.

“He links up really well. Not only does he want to be direct in his running but he likes to play the one-twos. He likes to get other people into play.

“I think he’s been a good signing. An excellent start to his Celtic career and they’ll be hoping he can only get better.”

Jota has scored three goals and contributed four assists in nine Celtic appearances.
