Celtic tipped to sign 'new Peter Crouch' after source reveal - Agbonlahor

Kyle Hudlin could be the new Peter Crouch for Celtic, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former England and Aston Villa forward insisted Hudlin could be a good option for Celtic if they formalised their interest.

Football Insider exclusively revealed on September 3 that the Hoops had set their sights on signing the 6ft 9in forward.

Talent spotter Andy Thorne watched Hudlin in action for Solihull Moors against Barnet at the end of August and a Celtic source has updated Football Insider to reveal he will continue to run the rule over him.

The 21-year-old moved to Moors last October and has scored 10 goals in 39 games across all competitions, including 23 starts.

Asked whether he could be a good signing for Celtic, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “It will all depend on what type of player he is.

“It’s all well and good being 6ft 9in, but what is his first touch like? What’s his movement like? What’s his heading like? Just because you’re tall it doesn’t mean you’re good at heading.

“I’m sure they’ll do their research on him and watch him play.

“If he’s the right sort of player for your squad then you add him.

“You look at Peter Crouch, he was a similar height, 6ft 7in.

“Hudlin is even taller than Crouch so maybe it is something you can look at and add to your squad, definitely.”

Hudlin is out of contract at Solihull Moors in the summer of 2022.

He has played three times in the National League for the Midlands club this season.
