Celtic told to complete 'big' signing who's 'there and ready' to join - McAvennie
Frank McAvennie wants Celtic to overhaul their defence in January as clean sheets continue to elude Ange Postecoglou.
The former Hoops hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the club needs a “leader” at the back.
Celtic have conceded 11 goals in their last six games with their only clean sheet coming against Raith Rovers.
They have shipped four goals in each of their Europa League games so far despite bolstering the backline in the summer.
Carl Starfelt, Filip Juranovic and Cameron Carter-Vickers all joined the club this season.
McAvennie insists this isn’t enough and demanded Celtic make at least three more defensive signings in January.

“I want to see big signings coming in,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I want to see a leader, Celtic need some more leaders on that pitch. The defensive record is awful.
“No disrespect to the players who are already there but we fall apart without the likes of Kyogo and McGregor.
“We need more experience at left and right-back and probably another centre half.
“A good defence is the key. There must be some big, confident players out there who we can sign.
“He’s out there and I want him signed. That’s what I want to see.
“Middle to front I have no problem. The defence still needs a lot of work.”
Celtic sit sixth in the Scottish Premiership, winning four of their eight opening games.
They face Motherwell after the international break.
