Celtic vulnerable to losing Ange Postecoglou 'cheaply' after contract update - pundit
Celtic will be vulnerable to losing Ange Postecoglou if they do not tie him down to a new long-term contract, according to Danny Mills.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Premier League and England defender claimed Postecoglouβs success at Celtic this season will have caught the eye of other clubs.
The 56-year-old penned a 12-month rolling contract when he took over at Parkhead last summer (2021).
The Daily Record reported on Thursday (12 May) that the club are set to open talks over a longer-term deal after he won the Scottish Premiership and Scottish League Cup in his first season.
As quoted by the same outlet on Friday (13 May), Postecoglou insisted he is not worried about a new contract as the club have already looked after him well enough and he gets more satisfaction from winning trophies.
βWith a 12-month running contract there will be other teams looking at him and thinking βHang on, where else can he do it?'β Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

βHeβs effectively out of contract so clubs can get him in relatively cheaply.
βThey should try and tie him down. Heβs proved what he can do.
βHe brought in players who he knew which is vitally important. There were a few raised eyebrows to start with where people werenβt sure about the players from the J-League and questioned whether it was going to work. Theyβve been sensational.
βHeβs done it on a reasonable budget as well so other clubs will be looking and thinking βOh, weβll have this guyβ.
βI think Celtic would be wise to tie him down for a couple of seasons at least.β
