Celtic working on wrapping up two deals, one is proven top-flight performer transfer - report

Celtic are working on deals for both Scott Bain and Krisoffer Ajer, according to a report.

The Daily Record claims that work has started behind the scenes for the Bhoys to sign Bain, 26, on a permanent deal from Dundee once he becomes available for a free transfer in the summer.

It is understood that the goalkeeper is desperate to turn his Parkhead loan deal into a permanent one after impressing in his first three appearances for the club.

Bain has proved himself to be a brilliant performer in Scotland’s top-flight with both Dundee and Celtic and it now seems as though there have been huge strides in helping him wrap up a permanent transfer to Glasgow’s East End.

The report adds that talks began with defender Ajer over a new deal last month with negotiations advancing positively.

Bain has performed well in his first few appearances for Celtic but it will be interesting to see whether he can keep his No 1 spot when Craig Gordon returns from his long-term injury. Dorus de Vries must be well out of the picture now and there’s a chance that the experienced goalkeeper will be off in the summer, unless Brendan Rodgers can convince him to stay as third-choice. However Celtic do have some good young goalkeepers in their squad like Conor Hazard, who was called up to the senior Northern Ireland international squad last month.

In other Celtic news, the Hoops are facing a summer transfer scrap with Rangers over this midfielder who is tearing up his league.
