Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney has been named the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership Player of the Month for October.

The news was announced on the Ladbrokes Twitter page on Thursday afternoon.

The award rounds off a great couple of weeks for the player.

He scored a scored a fantastic goal and provided an assist for Moussa Demeble for Celtic as they went clear at the top of the league in a 3-0 victory over Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

He was then made captain of Scotland for their friendly against the Netherlands at Pittodrie last week.

Tierney has made himself a mainstay of the Celtic side since he made his debut in 2015.

In his first full-season with the club he was named Scottish football young player of the year.

His second season was even better, as he was part of a Celtic team which clinched their first domestic treble since 2001, and he was once again named young player of the year.

This season aside from captaining Scotland he has captained Celtic, and he recently signed a new six year deal at Celtic Park.

Despite the new deal, rumours have been rife surrounding Tierney’s future, with Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United all reportedly interested in signing him.

Tierney and Celtic return to action this weekend, with a Saturday lunchtime game against Ross County.
