Despite sitting top of the Scottish Premiership table, the Hoops have been relegated from the Champions League and booted out of the Scottish League Cup.

O'Neill's side have seen their Europa League defeat to Ferencvaros sandwiched between two Old Firm losses, registering just two shots on target across both.

The current situation has caused the manager to question his future in Glasgow, with the players potentially coming back from international duty with someone new in the dugout.

Celtic's new stars still need time to gel, not just with the manager's tactics, but also with their teammates, with many arriving over the summer.

Football Insider has ranked each of the signing's performances so far in 2026-27, assessing which ones have landed on both feet, and which ones need to improve.

Camilo Duran - 9/10

The simplest of decisions. With six goals and three assists in 12 games, the Hoops would not be at the top of the Scottish Premiership table without Camilo Duran.

For just £5.5million, the 24-year-old attacker looks to be one of the club's most exciting signings in years, which has been much-needed after several high-profile exits.

Kasper Hogh - 7/10

A slow start, then a hat-trick against Kilmarnock, and now staring at seven games without a goal. Kasper Hogh's arrival has been a tricky one.

There have been some very bright signs from the centre-forward, but it was always going to be difficult filling Daizen Maeda's shoes at Parkhead.

Mika Baur - 6/10

The Hoops had Reo Hatate, Arne Engels and Paulo Bernardo to replace, and while Mika Baur is not an ideal replacement, he's doing a fine job so far.

The 22-year-old has had his ups and downs, and may have even deserved a red card in one of his games, but his winning goal against St Johnstone has certainly been a highlight.

Haissem Hassan - 5/10

Haissem Hassan arrived at Parkhead with plenty of expectation on his shoulders, having impressed at the 2026 World Cup.

The Egyptian international is yet to show that talent and firepower, but it's only a matter of time before the winger bursts into life for Celtic.

Oliver Sorensen - 5/10

In small bursts, Oliver Sorensen looks like he could be a star, but having only arrived on loan, he only has a finite amount of time to prove himself.

The midfielder would be higher with more minutes on the pitch, but with just one league start to his name, he simply can't be any higher.

Sam Johnstone - 3/10

It's a tough gig for Sam Johnstone, who has played second fiddle to Viljami Sinisalo since joining on loan from Wolves this summer.

He kept a clean sheet in the Scottish Premiership, but was unable to do so against Rangers. Sadly, he can't rank any higher.

Shim Mheuka - 2/10

As someone who has watched Shim Mheuka at Chelsea, I would have expected the youngster to burst into life at the first opportunity.

Unfortunately, while his cameos have been bright, the 18-year-old has failed to show that in front of goal, and will need to prove himself a lot more moving forward.
