Celtic are planning to stand firm in the face of ongoing protests from their supporters, sources have told Football Insider.

Hoops fans have called for major changes from the top at Parkhead, and have criticised the club's strategy as they continue to hit new road blocks on and off the pitch.

Protests have taken place at Celtic Park and beyond, the the fans having made themselves clear that changes are required to help the club take positive steps forward.

However, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Celtic executives are happy with their long-term plans and will not bow to fan pressure.

After opting to hit back at the supporters and the manner of their protests, the club are now planning any major operational changes to appease the growing frustrations.

While there are fears this could lead to further issues, the club remain confident in their decisions and will continue the work they are doing regardless of fans' sentiments.

Are Celtic prepared to make changes at boardroom level?

Former Aberdeen CEO Keith Wyness told Football Insider on 3 October that Celtic may be due for an overhaul of their board as their transfer plans continue to cause issues.

However, despite growing calls for a reshuffle and a fresh outlook at the top of the club including protests from fans, Celtic have no plans to make any major changes.

Instead, the board believes they have the right plans in place to continue their steady progress, with the long-term security and financial stability of the club in mind.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "I don't think they'll have any change on how Celtic go about their business and how they approach the transfer market.

"They've been steadfast on how they've done things in recent years as well. Maybe hasn't met with the full approval of the fans obviously who've made their protests and their feelings clear.

"But Celtic won't change, they've been very clear about that over a long period now, they're not going to bow down to pressure from the fans.

"They obviously want to safeguard the club financially as well. They don't want to be taking too many risks or spending too much money either and they will feel it's served them in good stead."

Celtic take 'huge risk', club could 'explode' after new development

Could Celtic face new issues as fan protests grow?

The latest set of fan protests against the board have made headlines, with the club also opting to issue a damning statement against all of those supporters involved.

A supporters group protested against minority owner Dermot Desmond, throwing tennis balls and raising banners during his round at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

The Hoops' official statement accused the supporters, representing the Celtic Fans' Collective, of tarnishing the club's reputation in what was a strongly-worded outburst.

However, former Man United coach Mick Brown warned Football Insider that Celtic's statement will only serve to incite further protests and the issue at Parkhead could now explode.

This comes shortly after the club's public attack on the Green Brigade, who were also named in the statement, and risks escalating the toxic feeling at Celtic Park.
