Celtic fans explode as journalist drops Dane Murray transfer update
Celtic fans have taken to social media to fume at new reports around the club blocking Dane Murray from going out on loan to Dundee.
Martin O'Neill is yet to bolster his backline this summer despite the new Premiership season now being underway.
He has been boosted by the return of Cameron Carter-Vickers for the new campaign, but many supporters feel they are lacking adequate depth in the centre of defence.
Hoops academy graduate Murray has been criticised by their fans over the last 12 months after putting in some shaky performances last season.
Journalist George Cran revealed on Wednesday morning that Celtic have turned down an approach from Dundee to sign Murray on loan for the campaign ahead.
Celtic's response to the Dark Blues' interest in the 23-year-old has angered fans, who believe he needs more game time and is not good enough to feature in their squad this season.

Murray emerged through Celtic's youth ranks to make his senior debut in July 2021, and has gone on to feature 20 times for the first team in the last five years.
16 of those appearances came last season, with four starts coming in the Premiership as the Hoops contended with an injury crisis at centre-back.
The 23-year-old was involved in a mix-up at the back that led to a goal in their friendly against Sporting CP last month, and watched on from the bench as Celtic beat Dundee on Monday.
Their supporters have made it clear that they feel he should have been allowed to leave for Dens Park, via X, with one fan saying: "I'd pay Dundee to take him. Absolutely rank rotten and we are a CCV injury away from him starting for us."
While another said: "Dying on the hill of an extremely limited player who hasn't been good enough in any game he's played is utterly hilarious and just embarrassing at this level."
And one supporter added: "Utterly baffling that we're not allowing him to actually develop."
Benjamin Arthur could return to Celtic amid Brentford transfer search
O'Neill seemingly remains keen to see another centre-back arrive at Parkhead before the window closes, after Celtic saw a bid rejected for former loanee Arthur last month.
The Brentford youngster impressed on loan last season but was restricted to making just six appearances across all competitions.
Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Arthur could still return to Celtic this summer, but any move hinges on Keith Andrews adding reinforcements to his backline.
His arrival would likely push Murray even further down O'Neill's centre-back pecking order.
