Celtic are eyeing a potential move for Torino maestro Gvidas Gineitis this summer transfer window as a potential replacement for Arne Engels.
Reports have recently emerged that the 22-year-old central midfielder has been scouted by the Hoops in recent months.
The Lithuania international has caught the eye in the Serie A, and could now be brought into Parkhead.
Celtic are in need of a new midfielder this month amid rumours that Engels could be out of the door.
As a result, Gineitis could help form a new-look midfield under Martin O’Neill as they look to retain their Scottish Premiership crown.

Who is Gvidas Gineitis?
Gineitis started his footballing career at Lithuanian side, FK Be1, where he progressed through their academy, before breaking into the first team.
After impressing, he joined FK Atmosfera in 2019, where he continued to put in solid performances.
After just a year at the Lithuanian side, he then made a move to Italian outfit SPAL in 2020.
In their academy, he continued to show promise, which eventually earned him a big move to Torino in 2022.
In the 2022-23 campaign, he was promoted to the first-team, and made his Serie A debut in February 2023.
By the 2023-24 season, he was a regular in the starting XI, with his presence continuing to the present day.
On top of this, Gineitis is also a Lithuanian international, and has made 29 first-team appearances for his country to date, scoring five goals.
Therefore, if The Scottish Sun’s report is correct, then Celtic could have a real player on their hands.
How good is Gineitis?
According to Fotmob on 1 July, Gineitis had an impressive season in the Serie A last campaign.
Per 90 minutes, he was averaging, 0.05 assists, a 0.12 xA, 1.38 chances created, 0.26 big chances created, 0.87 successful dribbles, 2.30 tackles and 1.12 interceptions in the Italian top-flight.
Therefore, there is little doubt that the midfielder would be a success in the Scottish Premiership.
However, it remains to be seen if Celtic are able to get a deal over the line for Gineitis this summer transfer window.
