Joel Mvuka has taken to social media with his time at Celtic set to come to an end.

Mvuka joined Celtic on loan from Lorient in January, but only made two appearances for the club.

The 23-year-old was not included in any matchday squad in the Scottish Premiership as he made both his appearances in the Scottish Cup.

Mvuka was not the only player to have struggled at Celtic, with fellow January additions Junior Adamu and Tomas Cvancara also not expected to return to Glasgow on a permanent basis.

Celtic face a huge rebuild of their squad this summer, with interim boss Martin O'Neill set to remain at the club for another season.

Joel Mvuka shares rare social media post

Mvuka, who was clearly not favoured under O'Neill, took to Instagram to share pictures of his time at Celtic, including celebrations from their Scottish Cup final victory over Dunfermline.

The Norwegian, posting on Instagram for the first time since he joined the club, only captioned the post with a four leaf clover.

Defender Auston Trusty liked the post and replied with three fire emojis, whilst Sebastian Tounekti responded with a red love heart.

Adamu commented, "my guy", as Mvuka was shown some support following his tough spell at Celtic.

Celtic risk falling behind title rivals

In agreeing to stay on as Celtic manager, O'Neill is now faced with the task of rebuilding the squad and ensuring the club can compete in European competition next season.

The Hoops were miles off their best for most of the campaign, with Celtic having yet to find a reliable goal scorer up front since Kyogo Furuhashi departed in January 2025.

Celtic told ‘big’ Tawanda Maswanhise offer will be accepted

Sources told Football Insider that Celtic could sign Motherwell forward Tawanda Maswanhise if they offered a suitable fee in the region of £4million, whilst they also have other targets on their radar.

22-year-old Rodez striker Tairyk Arconte has been linked with a move to Celtic after he netted 14 goals in Ligue 2 this season.

Celtic can not afford to fail in the transfer market for a second consecutive summer, with Rangers having already strengthened their squad with the addition of Hearts' top scorer Lawrence Shankland.
