Luis Palma has sent one final goodbye to Celtic after his three-year spell at the club came to an end.

The winger, signed from Greek club Aris in 2023, spent the past season on loan at Polish side Lech Poznan, where he will move permanently in a deal worth around £3.5million.

During his one, and only, full season in Glasgow, Palma contributed seven goals and nine assists in the Scottish Premiership, before he spent the second half of the 2024-25 campaign at Olympiacos.

Falling out of favour at Celtic, Palma is one of a number of fringe players who are expected to leave the club this summer as part of a rebuild of the squad.

Defender Stephen Welsh, who failed to break through into the starting XI, has already left Celtic to join Swansea City.

The confirmed appointment of Martin O'Neill as permanent manager means that Celtic should now become active in the transfer market.

Luis Palma lived his 'dream' at Celtic

Posting on his Instagram, Palma penned a lengthy and emotional message to Celtic upon his departure.

Accompanied by a series of images from his time at Celtic, Palma said that the club marked a "very special chapter" in his life.

The 26-year-old said he "dreamed" of playing for a club like Celtic, and has made "unforgettable memories and friendships."

Palma thanked everyone at the club, and the fanbase, in a message liked by numerous teammates including Daizen Maeda, Arne Engels and Cameron Carter-Vickers.

Midfielder Paulo Bernardo commented: "It's been a pleasure playing with you, you're an absolute legend, I wish you all the best!"

As Palma leaves the club, former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Celtic are just kicking any problems further down the road with the appointment of O'Neill.

Celtic must decide future of £25m rated star

One of the first things O'Neill will have to do at Celtic is resolve the uncertain futures of other players in the squad.

It has been revealed that Engels is wanted by three Premier League clubs, and offers are expected for the midfielder this summer.

Celtic rejected a bid worth up to £25m from Nottingham Forest in January, but further interest could see a bidding war ensue.

Engels has not publicly stated that he wants to leave Celtic, but his strong performances in Scotland makes a move away likely.
