Celtic fans have urged Martin O’Neill to simply resign as manager after a series of transfer blunders from the club.

The Hoops officially missed out on Kelechi Iheanacho, despite being in contract talks, with the striker moving to Bursaspor on a free transfer.

Elsewhere, Marcelo Saracchi has confirmed that he will not be returning to Celtic this summer despite O’Neill being a fan of the full-back.

Therefore, with just two weeks left to go before the start of the Scottish Premiership, the Hoops have only made one signing.

O’Neill is unlikely to be happy with his situation after it was clear last season that numerous reinforcements were needed.

As a result, fans have urged the manager to save his legacy and simply walk away from the club.

Martin O’Neill urged to save Celtic legacy by fans

O’Neill was Celtic’s saviour last season as he came in to pull the club out of the ashes and to a domestic double after Wilfried Nancy’s awful reign.

However, it was very clear that many of the current crop of players were simply not good enough, and numerous signings were needed to hold onto their Scottish Premiership title, let alone progress.

Yet, little has happened in the market, and the Hoops keep embarrassing themselves as they continue to miss out on their main targets.

As a result, many fans have taken to X to call on O’Neill to simply resign, with the club clearly not backing him in the summer transfer window.

Who are Celtic currently looking to sign?

Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Celtic are plotting to make a move for Hearts’ Claudio Braga this summer transfer window.

The 26-year-old was named as last season's Scottish Premiership Player of the Season, and his performances were fundamental to the Jambos finishing second.

A new forward is clearly needed at Parkhead this summer, and the club could now test Hearts’ resolve this summer.

The addition of Braga would be considered a major coup, with the attacker already being proven in the division.

However, it remains to be seen if Hearts would be happy losing yet another star this summer, with many already exciting Tynecastle, including their former manager Derek McInnes.
