Sources: Celtic in talks to complete loan deal after triple signing blitz
Celtic are in talks to sign a left-back on loan with confidence that a deal will be struck, sources have told Football Insider.
The Hoops expect an agreement to be found after deals are wrapped up for Mika Baur, Haissem Hassan and Niko Sigur.
Baur is undergoing a medical on Thursday after a £6.8million deal was agreed with Paderborn, while Hassan's arrival was confirmed by the club on Wednesday.
Celtic are also set to step up their interest in Sigur, with talks set to take place with Hajduk Split in the coming days.
Chelsea left-back Landon Emenalo has been mentioned as a potential target for the Scottish champions, but several players are under consideration.
Kasper Hogh and Camilo Duran have already arrived at Parkhead this summer, with both players making excellent starts to their Celtic careers.
Celtic's loan options at left-back
The previously mentioned Emenalo, 18, is highly rated at Chelsea and has sat on the bench in both the Champions League and the Premier League.
Despite his age, the defender is already a regular for the Under-21 team and represents England's Under-19s.
Naturally a left-back, Emenalo also featured both in the centre of the defence and as a defensive midfielder last season.
Greg Taylor is another name that has been linked, and the 28-year-old is far more known to Celtic.
Taylor spent almost six years with the Hoops before joining Greek side PAOK on a free transfer last summer. Having struggled for minutes, the defender may now be set to return.
Martin O'Neill hints at pending signing
Celtic manager Martin O'Neill has spoken for the first time since a brief stint in hospital after undergoing a small procedure.
The Northern Irishman has kept his faith in the transfer team this summer, opting against publicly joining the fans in their frustrations.
And he appears to have been awarded for his patience, with Celtic Park set to be extremely busy in the coming days.
Outgoings will be part of that, too, with Arne Engels, Reo Hatate and Alistair Johnston potentially set to leave, but Celtic are replacing well.
"It's just trying to get people to gel together. Now that you would have to say that both Kasper and Duran are kind of hopefully settling in now as well, too," O'Neill told Celtic TV on Thursday after he was asked about the upcoming fixtures.
"We might have somebody else in as well, too, by that stage. Who knows? I don't know. And we'll see. What you're hoping for is that the players can just play football and gel as quickly as possible because these games are coming so quickly now on top of us."
