Sources: Celtic's three-man signing plan revealed
Celtic are prioritising moves for a central midfielder, winger, and a backup left back before the window closes, sources have told Football Insider.
Martin O'Neill is determined to add quality and strength in depth to his squad in the final month of the transfer window, having only pulled off two summer deals so far.
Following his decision to stay on as the permanent manager, the 74-year-old hoped to be backed in the market to ensure a more comfortable route to silverware than last season.
However, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, O'Neill believes at least three new signings are needed in major positions this month.
The Hoops' squad, as things stand, is lacking the depth required to compete for silverware domestically and in Europe, despite the season having already started.
There is also a growing possibility that Celtic could lose players in the final month of the window, including the likes of Arne Engels, which could force them into the market.

Football Insider revealed in May that Celtic's board are keen to back O'Neill and know the manager will need their support to mount another successful campagin.
Despite winning both the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup last time out, both competitions were closely fought, and O'Neill wants to move further from the chasing pack.
A new central midfielder and winger are being targeted to strengthen the positions, while a left-back is also on the boss' radar as an alternative to Kieran Tierney.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Celtic are in the market for a new goalkeeper, but that isn't one of their priorities at this stage of the window.
"The priority for Celtic and Martin O'Neill would be to bring in a new midfielder, another winger and left back cover for Kieran Tierney as well.
"Martin O'Neill wants to add more depth to his squad as well as quality players in those positions as we enter the final month of the transfer window.
"So I don't think there's any urgency from Celtic right now to bring in a new keeper, and I don't think there have been moves for any targets in that respect as well."
When can we expected Celtic to accelerate their plans?
Despite plans to back O'Neill this summer, Celtic have so far struggled to get deals over the line, with just two incoming deals secured since the transfer window opened.
The arrivals of Kasper Hogh and Camilo Duran are seen as significant coups for the Hoops, but there is a feeling more additions will be needed if they want to enjoy a comfortable season.
The good news, then, is Football Insider revealed in May that Celtic are prepared to leave their business until the latter stages of the window rather than rushing into deals.
O'Neill's side will face a two-legged playoff against LASK as they aim for qualification to the Champions League, and reaching the group stages could boost their plans.
They fell at the same hurdle last August against minnows Kairat Almaty, but will fancy their chances of progression to the league stage under a new manager this time around.
